Female condom

One of barrier methods of contraception is female condom.

A female condom is a thin, soft pouch, which is fitted inside the vagina before sex. It has an inner ring that goes into the upper part of the vagina, and an outer one, which should be visible. It protects vagina from liquids produced by male organism and pevents eggs contact with sperm.

How to use it?

Female condom is inserted into the vagina by a woman before the intercourse. She should be careful, because she can deteriorate the condom with her nail while inserting it into the vagina. A female condom can be used only once.

Effectiveness of female condom

Protective properties of the female condom depend on the accuracy of its use. It is as reliable as the male condom (up to 98%), but only provided you use this method of contraceptionaccording to the instruction.
The advantages of the female condom are the same as of the male ones. There is only one additional advantage: a man does not have to take the penis out of the vagina immediately after ejaculation, as it provides a better protection. Also it can be used by men who do not have strong erection.

The disadvantages of the female condom are also the same as of the male ones. An additional disadvantage: some people consider it to be unesthetic.
