Main Rules of Coitus Interruptus
This method of contraception, unlike many others has been tried by any person at least once in his life as it is most available one. You do not have to go to a drugstore or to a doctor. Any time and anywhere you make love you can use this birth-control method.
How does it work?
The essence of the method is the following: the man takes his penis out of the vagina before ejaculation. This implies that sperm does not get inside and, of course, conception does not occur.
Instruction for users
This method requires a great deal of trust and coordination among the partners. That is why you should read very carefully the main rules of coitus interruptus.
Rule I. Trust and Mutual Understanding
First of all you should both take the decision to use this method, otherwise you will not avoid misunderstanding and even scandals. A woman might think – he didn't say anything about contraception, he does not know whether I use a contraceptive, perhaps he is not going to ejaculate inside me.” Never do so! You should discuss the matter with the partner and find out whether he is sure he can withdraw in time.
Rule 2. Remove the Sperm
Can you guess what is the “expiration date” of sperm? Experience will suggest you that being outside the body sperm does not exhale and does not fall to pieces. It has a certain consistence, color and odor. In other words it can be stored for some time. It was found out that if your lover had sex with you (if you have good relationships) or with someone else (if your relationships are not good enough) less than 24 hours ago the ejaculate from the previous intercourse can make you mom and dad.
To make sure such a trouble will not happen, the man should urinate and dry the head of the penis.
Rule 3. Total control!
Here everything depends of the man. His task is to withdraw the penis as soon as he feels that ejaculation will occur soon. Sperm must not get on your external sex organs (not to mention internal ones). You can help the partner: simply move over.
Rule 4. Have emergency contraception handy
Even if you are absolutely sure your lover controls himself and you already practice this method, to keep on the safe side have an emergency contraceptive (a pill) handy. Thus you will not panic if sperm gets inside.
This method like any other has its pluses and minuses.
Pluses
- It is always available
- It is easy to use – it does not require expenses or medical intervention
- It does not imply any devices or medications
- Does not have side effects.
- If used correctly the effectiveness of the method is 85 percent. To increase effectiveness you can use some chemical method of contraception.
Minuses
- You cannot use this method of contraception if the man suffers from early ejaculation or he has some difficulties with taking the penis out of the vagina before ejaculation
- Being nervous the woman is unlikely to achieve orgasm. In fact both partners cannot relax, concentrate on their sensations and achieve complete satisfaction.
- Natural penile lubricant might contain sperm!
- This method does not protect you from getting infected with a sexually transmitted disease.
